We do this by offering classes and workshops certified by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), along with one-on-one support from HUD-certified housing counselors. Whether you are hoping to buy a house or are facing foreclosure, our team is here to serve and guide you forward.

Our financial counselors are certified by HUD, which means they must uphold standards of integrity and compliance.
An NHS financial counselor can help you:
- Learn about the homebuying process.
- Develop a plan to reach your personal and small business financial goals.
- Access affordable financing for home buying and improvement.
- Apply for down payment assistance and home improvement grants.
- Evaluate your options if you are having trouble making your monthly mortgage payments or are facing foreclosure.
- Earn extra income as a landlord by investing in new property or adding an ADU to your existing property.

Disaster recovery counseling
If you are a survivor of the LA Wildfires, meet with our counselors face-to-face at our Rebuilding & Recovery Workshops. You can also complete a wildfire survivor intake form to get connected with our team as soon as possible.
Drive Clean Program
Our financial counselors can help you apply for the Driving Clean Assistance Program (DCAP). This program helps individuals with financial challenges secure a new clean-air vehicle.
- Get up to $12,000 when you scrap an old car
- Obtain a financial incentive of up to $7,500 to help purchase the vehicle, and $2,000 to help cover charging costs
