The Legacy Project

Closing the racial wealth gap by creating paths to homeownership and empowering families to build intergenerational wealth

The Legacy Project was born in 2021 as a path to helping local families build legacy through anti-gentrification practices, homeownership education, and financial resources such as low-cost estate planning.

Since then, NHS has continued to engage in community outreach, engagement, and activities to develop social capital and collective empowerment. Our goal is to stabilize neighborhoods, rejuvenate blighted properties, and increase or stabilize residential and commercial property values.

In partnership with Attorney Aimee Griffin, the founder and President of the Association of Black Estate Planning Professionals, we provide estate planning services for $500 to income-eligible families. This service is free of cost for wildfire survivors.
