Successful First Saturdays Event!
First Saturdays a success at the NHS Center for Sustainable Communities!
On March 7, 2020 Neighborhood Housing Services of Los Angeles County and Compton Artwalk hosted our kickoff of First Saturdays. Over 50 vendors came out to represent their small and emerging businesses at the NHS Center for Sustainable Communities. We worked together to create a fun filled day of art, performances, vendors, food, resources and information.
NHS hosted a Community Conversation about Building Legacy and Gentrification with Chancela Al-Mansour, Executive Director of the Housing Rights Center, Jelani Hendrix, Director of Policy & Advocacy, Social Justice Learning Institute, Ellis Smith, The Service Company Realty and NHS CEO, Lori Gay.
First Saturdays is going to be hosted every first Saturday of the month throughout 2020. We hope to continue to offer information, resources, healthy food and family fun.
